Politics in change: Who brings stability after the failed negotiations?

After the failed attempt to form a coalition between FPÖ and ÖVP, the looks are now based on Federal President Alexander van der Bellen, who has to take decisive steps. SPÖ boss Andreas Babler has already signaled that his party is willing to support both an expert government and to conduct further negotiations. Werner Kogler, the chairman of the Greens, also emphasizes the need for responsibility and cooperation: "We need the right, reason and a portion of courage," says Kogler, who realizes that the time for constructive solutions has now come. The urgency underlines Babler with the words: "Satisfaction must be standing standstill" ( OE24 ).

The Greens boss also expresses hope of government formation that enables cooperation without right-wing extremist elements. The Greens show up to be compromising and open to solutions, whereby Kogler explains in an interview that the population needs more stable conditions and that he wants to continue to prevent the FPÖ in a government. His concerns about a possible right -wing extremist Chancellor are justified because the SPÖ, the ÖVP and the NEOS have at the beginning of the negotiations and, according to Kogler, have to take a new direction to avert this disaster. Therefore, Kogler appeals to the parties to put together and negotiate again before there are new elections ( Kurier ).
