35 years of Kuddelmuddel: A feast of imagination and creativity in Linz!

The Kuddelmuddel, a unique children's culture center in Linz, celebrates its 35th anniversary this year. It was ceremoniously opened on April 27, 1990 and has since attracted over 950,000 visitors who took part in more than 12,600 performances. With a wide range of events that covers theater performances and creative workshops for children from two to teenagers, Kuddelmuddel has established itself as an important point of contact for cultural education. According to Manfred Forster, the director of the Kuddelmuddel, they offer valuable analogous experiences in an increasingly digital world that give the children unforgettable memories.

The anniversary program starts on April 27 with a cultural breakfast, followed by a large family festival on June 1st in the tobacco factory, which, among other things, has numerous game and creative stations. The highlight will be an open-air concert that includes the popular Tyrolean Liederfinder Ratzfatz and the Kasperl performance "Kasperl and the Castle Specter", which will be shown free of charge in various districts of Linz from April 30th. As reports Krone , the center attracts around 40,000 young visitors every year, and the annual program also includes numerous workshops during the summer vacation.

This long success story has made Kuddelmuddel an indispensable part of the cultural landscape in Linz, as well as Johanna Möslinger, the interim director of Liva, emphasizes: "Children and adolescents are the most difficult audience." At the same time, it is important that such institutions offer diverse cultural activities to meet the needs of young people. Various events are not only a figurehead, but also actively promote the creativity of the smallest visitors by enabling them to stand on stage themselves and present their own works.
