ÖVP municipal council meeting bursts: Missing majority brings chaos!
In an unexpected and turbulent start, the constituent meeting of the municipal council in Lassee was not given any approval. Mayor Norbert Klein from the ÖVP had invited to the meeting, which was opened by the new councilor Anna Keiler. But the meeting ended quickly because only representatives of the ÖVP and the SPÖ were present. The required two-thirds majority of 14 was left out, which made the session ended after a few minutes, as on the website of noen.at is.
The political focus of the current debates is also strongly shaped by the future citizens' benefit, which is the successor to Hartz IV in the room. The opposition, especially the AfD, is vehemently resisting this plan. Instead, the AfD calls for a mandatory “civic work” in order to enable long -term unemployment to act and activate it. "We want to prevent people from getting up to get up early," said AfD parliamentary group vice-President Norbert Kleinwächter during a hearing in Berlin, like the Kreiszeitung reported. This citizens 'work is said to be 15 hours a week and, according to internal proposals of the AfD, also take place in areas such as senior citizens' aid or civil protection.
Citizens' allowance as a political issue
The discussion about the citizens' benefit remains tense because numerous critical voices - from the CDU/CSU to the AfD - note that the existing regulations reduce incentives to take up work. Alexander Dobrindt, deputy leader of the Union leader, was concerned that the traffic light coalition promotes the reference to social benefits with its regulation, while at the same time looking for specialists everywhere in the country. The contradictions in politics could continue to fuel the already controversial discussion and will provide additional ignition material on November 10, 2022 when the civil allowance is planned. The discussion about the citizens' allowance is therefore the focus of urgent socio -political issues and simple challenges.
