Lower Austria's most bike -friendly community: Wiener Neudorf wins!

On a festive occasion on December 9, 2024 at the headquarters of Hypo Noe in St. Pölten, the market town of Wiener Neudorf was recognized as the most bike -friendly community of Lower Austria. The State Council of Transport LH deputy Udo Landbauer proudly announced that Wiener Neudorf won the title "State winner in 2024" and that simultaneous success in bike friendliness in the districts was celebrated. St. Pölten, Amstetten, Horn and Hollabrunn were honored as regional winners. It should be noted that new standards were set in the first round in 2022: nine cities reached the 4-star rating and 15 more were able to upgrade their status.

The assessment of the cities was based on a point system that included crucial criteria such as infrastructure and public relations. Mödling was honored as the "promoted team of the year" after the city was significantly increasing its performance. Numerous improvements in the cycling infrastructure were awarded, including over 50 kilometers of newly created bike paths. This shows a growing commitment to improving the quality of life through active traffic, which, according to Susanna Hauptmann from Radland Lower Austria, should not be underestimated. The prices not only included trophies, but also the promise of a "bike service base" by the ÖAMTC for short repairs.

While Vienna shines in bike friendliness, hospitable atmosphere is also very important worldwide. According to a current assessment of falstaff travel , the southern Italian city of Polignano a mare dasranking of the most hospitable cities. Hotels particularly highly rated and a picturesque coastal landscape make this place a popular travel destination among tourists. In Hualien City in Taiwan there are impressive natural beauties that attract numerous visitors. Yesterday's award in Austria marks a further step in the endeavor to score in international framework through commitment to cycling infrastructure and strong hospitality. The next round for bike friendliness will be planned for 2026, which is the course for future improvements in mobility and urban development.
