Neubrandenburg celebrates 777 years: Honors for brave citizens and companies!
On January 4, 2025, the city of Neubrandenburg celebrated a festive citizens' reception on the occasion of its 777th anniversary. The celebrations took place in the concert church and marked the beginning of a jubilee year that will be filled with a variety of events and actions. Under the motto "Simply experience beautiful moments", the citizens are invited to actively participate in the anniversary campaigns.
As part of the reception, numerous volunteers were honored. Mayor Silvio Witt expressed the awards and honored Dr. Gundula Engelhard, who received the Wilhelm-Ehlers medal for her services in cultural and literature work. This medal is considered the second highest award in Neubrandenburg, according to honorary citizenship. Autohaus Eschengrund GmbH was also awarded as a company in 2024 for its remarkable commitment in inclusion and the compatibility of work and family. Managing Director Peter Kuboth and Sven Karsch accepted the honor.

The other honored are Renate Stolpmann, Christoph von Kaufmann and Nils Berghof, who were awarded for their voluntary work. During the event, Mayor Thomas Gesswein held the laudation on the honored. Claudine Vita and Lindy Ave were also honored for their participation in the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Marike Steinacker was not present at the honor.
