Vienna as a pioneer: redesign women's policy for a better future!

On Saturday morning, the Viennese secretary of women Sara Costa opened the conference of the Wiener SPÖ women in Stage 3 in Vienna/Landstrasse. Under the motto "Social. Sure. Solidar. With consistent women's policy!" The Vienna SPÖ women are focusing on strengthening women's rights and support for women in all situations. It is emphasized how essential a progressive and feminist urban policy is in times of global background. The conference made it clear that the pressure on women's rights increases in many countries.

dr. Michael Ludwig, the state party chairwoman and mayor of Vienna, pointed out the role of Vienna as the “city of women” in his greetings. He underlined the continuous measures for promoting women in various areas of life. Initiatives such as the women's survey "Vienna, as she wants", headed by Kathrin Gáal, aim to ensure that Viennese can actively participate in urban politics. Current data show that Vienna offers the best perspectives for women in Austria.

Women's work foundation and protection of violence

An outstanding project is the planned women's work foundation, which is intended to create new perspectives for Viennese from the age of 25 without completed vocational training. Eva-Maria Holzleitner, Federal Women's Chairman and Federal Minister of Women, Science and Research, emphasized the importance of feminist women's policy and announced that measures to improve women throughout Austria are intensified. An example of this is the National Action Plan Violence Protection, which wants to close gaps in violence, among other things by punishing Dick Pics.

Marina Hanke, chair of the Vienna SPÖ women, emphasized the need for social, safe and solidary politics. She announced that Vienna Social Democracy will have a decision against right -wing parties that threaten social reduction and restrictions on women's rights. The aim is to keep Vienna as a city of women and to establish women's policy as a future policy.

gender equality indicators in Germany

The importance of women's rights and equality is also manifested in the current equality indicators in Germany. According to the data, the gender Pay GAP, which analyzes the earnings stand between women and men per hour, shows both unmayed and adjusted values. The uninanced hourly wage comprises various professions and qualifications, while the adjusted value compares gross hours wages from women and men with comparable properties. Statistics show that the gender Pension GAP, the retirement provision, also shows significant differences.

The use of equality indicators is crucial to measure and promote progress in equality in gender equality. Data such as the employment rate differentiated by gender help to better understand the participation of women in the labor market and to develop targeted measures.

The conference of the Vienna SPÖ women is not only a platform for strengthening women's rights, but also an revealing place to promote important topics such as social justice and the consistent promotion of women in society. Photos of the conference are continuously added to Flickr to make the commitment and progress visible.
