New Labor Foundation for Kika/Leiner: A hope for Christmas time!

After the bankruptcy of the Kika/Leiner furniture chain, a groundbreaking measure occurs in Lower Austria: The state government has launched a labor foundation that is intended to open up new perspectives for all concerned employees. "This is a gratifying Christmas message for the colleagues concerned. It also shows that stubborn political engagement pays off," explains Michael Pieber, Managing Director of GPA-Niederösterreich. Previously, the establishment of such a foundation was initially rejected by the state councilor, but this did not prevent the union and almost 3,000 supporters from fighting for this need, as the news agency OTS reports.

an opportunity for the future

The new labor foundation will not only offer the affected employees financial support, but will also ensure comprehensive further training and qualification. State Councilor Susanne Rosenkranz from the FPÖ explained that the foundation initially provided support for three years in order to promote the integration of employees into the labor market. This measure is not only intended as a direct answer to the Kika/Leiner insolvency, but also as an example for other companies that are in difficulties. Pieber emphasizes that the demands for a permanent foundation continue to be able to better counter future challenges on the labor market, as the NÖN also reports.

With this initiative, there is now hope for Kika/Leiner's employees, while an important signal is sent to other economically stricken companies. The implementation of this foundation is a significant step to help employees in difficult times and to actively shape their future.
