Insolvency from Kika/Leiner: New Labor Foundation brings hope for 550 affected people!
Niederösterreich, Österreich - The bankruptcy of the Kika/Leiner furniture chain has serious consequences for its employees in Lower Austria. The situation is particularly precarious because the insolvency was announced shortly before Christmas, which is a double burden for those affected. FPÖ state councilor Susanne Rosenkranz said that there are now concrete data in order to work quickly on solutions. The State Councilor emphasized: "Insolvency is always a difficult blow for the employees - shortly before Christmas she meets particularly hard." But there is hope: A labor foundation should be founded to offer affected employees new perspectives on the labor market, such as "https://www.nachrichten.at/wirtschaft/kikaleiner--plite-niederoesterreich-doch-arbeitfiftung-ein ;art15,40158"> n Nachrichten.at reported.
a ray of hope for those affected
The planned labor foundation has been initiated as a direct reaction to the bankruptcy registration and is intended to offer additional support for three years. State Councilor Rosenkranz said that the majority of the employees are currently still working in the branches and that the Christmas business is handling. Only at the beginning of the new year can initially be reported about the early warning system of the labor market service (AMS). It is estimated that the bankruptcy concerns about 550 employees in Lower Austria, which are to be cleaned into the labor market through targeted measures, as well as 5min.at reported.
The union GPA-Niederösterreich had called for a foundation early after the initial rejection of the country. Michael Pieber, Managing Director of the GPA, is pleased about the result: "For many colleagues at Kika/Leiner, new perspectives on the labor market are opening up." The initiative had experienced remarkable backing through almost 3,000 signed online petitions. According to Sandra Kern, the state manager of the AMS Lower Austria, it is now a primary task to offer the affected employees security and perspectives. The establishment of the foundation will be based on the positive experiences of earlier projects of the state and AMS, so that the Kika/Leiner employees can be effectively helped.
