Women's power in Burgenland: Fit Action Day promotes craftsmanship
Neutal, Österreich - On March 6, 2025, the FIT action day took place in Burgenland, in which 130 women had the opportunity to look into various technical professions. The event, which was under the motto "If you are also a future maker", was organized for the seventh time by the labor market service (AMS). The doors of the training centers in Eisenstadt, Neutal, Großpetersdorf and Güssing opened to give interested women insights into professions such as metal, building and electrical engineering. In the metal processing center in Großpetersdorf, Christian Pelzmann explained that the basic qualification for these professions lasts about three months, followed by a practical training.
Renate Vouillarmet-Winkler, Gender representative of the AMS Burgenland, emphasized the advantages of technical and craftsmanship, since the payment and working hours in these areas are often better regulated. In recent years, over 50 percent of women who participated in the fit program have been successfully integrated into the labor market. According to Helene Sengstbratl, state manager of the AMS, the goal of this year's campaign day is to enable 60 women to train. Interested parties were able to register until February 28th and women who are not AMS customers were encouraged to contact women's advice centers to benefit from the programs.
opportunities for women in technology and craft
The FIT Action Day is a great opportunity for women to discover their skills in the technical field and to expand their professional perspectives. The focus on craftsmanship is intended to motivate women to develop their potential and to assert themselves in the male -dominated world of technology. The AMS not only offers vocational training, but also helps with the recovery of degrees of vocational schools.
