KTM before the out: wages and Christmas bonus remain unpaid!
At KTM, the lights are pending: the company's financial crisis strikes like a flash and affects over 3,700 employees. The November wages and the Christmas bonus have not been paid out, and despite temporary commitments, the payment of the December content is also in danger. AK President Andreas Stangl confirmed with disappointing words: "There is simply no more handshake quality in the management of KTM." In the gray run -up to Christmas, the employees worry about their money and their existence.
The situation escalates before the planned bankruptcy application, which is planned for Friday. As Puls24, KTM, a subsidiary of Pierer Mobility, must fight with a "high three-digit million amount". This financial disaster is accompanied by a dramatic decline in sales of 21 percent in the first half of 2024, which led to a loss of 181 million euros. The company relies on an application for bankruptcy with the aim of acting renovating and possibly making payments on the bankruptcy fund.
effects on employees
The catastrophic message comes at a particularly unfavorable time for many employees, since they had already hoped for the Christmas remuneration. Until the final clarification and a possible approval of the insolvency proceedings, it will take months in which the employees are convicted of uncertainty. Stangl appeals to all employees not to sign anything and get legally advised. The company spokesman confirmed that the December salaries should be paid out in good time to "cushion hardships before Christmas", but how long the employees have to wait for the Christmas bonus remains uncertain.
At the KTM Group itself and the subsidiaries KTM Components GmbH and KTM Research & Development GmbH, measures have already been taken to take over the debt burden of over 250 million euros. Mother company Pierer Industrie AG has already applied for a "European restructuring process" in the hope of averting bankruptcy. The next time will be crucial, not only for the future of the company, but especially for the fate of the employees concerned who hope for an early solution.
