KTM bankruptcy: Stöger demands rapid repayment of the donations!

Mattighofen, Österreich - The bankruptcy of KTM, the renowned motorcycle supplier from Mattighofen, has already led to the job notice for 250 employees, and there is a risk of up to 400 employees who could lose their jobs. According to reports, the company has debt of around 1.8 billion euros, which has drastic consequences not only for the employees, but also for their families. In the middle of this turbulent situation, the former health minister and SPÖ chairwoman Alois Stöger makes serious allegations against the ÖVP and calls for the repayment of the party donations of KTM boss Stefan Pierer, who are over 400,000 euros to help the employees concerned. "It is unacceptable that the employees have to worry about their wages and money during the Christmas season, while the ÖVP puts the money from Pierer," said Stöger, as well as reported.

political responsibility in the crisis

The state government also criticizes

Stöger for its inactivity and emphasizes that previous applications in the state parliament, which demanded additional funds for labor market policy in Upper Austria, were ignored by the ÖVP and FPÖ. He is concerned that the black and blue state government takes too much consideration for Pierer and ignoring the concerns of the employees. Stöger asks the politicians to finally create clarity and to live up to their responsibility. "People expect answers and deeds in terms of KTM-not silence," he said, and also referred to the planned mega project of the KTM owners, who concerns the takeover of the fire brigade supplier Rosenbauer in Leonding as far as additional questions about the financial involvement.

The situation around KTM not only raises economic but also political questions. Alois Stöger expects prompt measures from Governor Thomas Stelzer and Chancellor Karl Nehammer to maintain the perspectives of the employees concerned and to strengthen the trust of the voters, as well as ooe.orf.at informed.
