Insolvency shock in the Ruhr area: 200 jobs endangered before Christmas!
In a dramatic turn for the employees in North Rhine-Westphalia, Libreco Food Service is short of bankruptcy, and of all things in the contemplative time before Christmas. Around 200 employees of the company in Gelsenkirchen are concerned about their jobs, since despite intensive efforts, no suitable investor could be found to save the company. Insolvency administrator Georg Kreplin confirmed the critical situation and explained that despite the hopes of taking over, the company was properly processed. "A continuation in the opened bankruptcy proceedings could not be represented economically," said Kreplin, which only reinforced the despair of those affected.
Diverse reasons for bankruptcy
The causes of bankruptcy are, according to Kreplin, and are related to a difficult market environment, high price pressure and changed consumption behavior. These factors have led to Libreco has to close the doors. The operational business has not been running since December 1st, which led to the first exemptions of employees. Fabric Werning GmbH is also in the bankruptcy application process, which shows that the economic location in the Ruhr area is more tense than ever. In the meantime, the traditional company "Schmeltzer Antik" also has to close, even if it is not an bankruptcy. The loss of this institution, after almost 150 years, is another blow to the region and illustrates the massive economic upheaval in Germany.
The situation for those affected could not be more dramatic, especially during this period of the year, when the holiday mood and uncertainty collide. It remains to be seen how many of the approximately 200 affected employees will ultimately lose their workplace, since formal dismissals are only expected in the course of December href = "https://www.wa.de/nordrhein-westfalen/nrw-naechste-insolvenz-ruhr-kuendungen-kurz-wehnachten-libreco-kreplin-gelsenkirchen-93462586.html"> Wa.de Another report by
