Welcome to the monarchy: William and Kate shine, Harry plummets!
A just-released YouGov poll shows that the British royals continue to attract a lot of interest. The list of popularity is topped by Prince William (43), which has established itself as a crowd favorite with 74 percent positive ratings. In second place is his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales (43), which achieved 71 percent approval. The survey was conducted on August 5th and 6th, 2025 and highlights the continued popularity of the two.
In third place is Princess Anne (74), who also receives high appreciation for her conscientious work and receives 70 percent positive reviews. king Charles III (76) follows in fourth place with 59 percent, while Queen Camilla (78) comes in fifth with 43 percent positive and 44 percent negative ratings.
Lower approval for Harry and Meghan
The survey also shows the decreasing support for Prince Harry (40) and Duchess Meghan (44). Harry only received 28 percent approval, while Meghan only achieved 20 percent. This may be due in part to the couple's withdrawal from their royal duties in 2020, which significantly impacted their relationship with the public.
A particularly worrying result can be seen with Prince Andrew (65), who occupies last place in the popularity scale with 87 percent of negative reviews and only 5 percent of positive votes. This negative reputation may reflect the controversies surrounding him.
Stability of the monarchy
Despite these different assessments, the figures show that the monarchy as an institution remains stable. Overall, 62 percent of those surveyed rated the royal family positively, while 58 percent supported the monarchy itself. However, there are also critical voices, as 30 percent of those surveyed have a negative opinion of the royal family and 32 percent are skeptical of the monarchy.
Overall, the survey shows that while the popularity of some royals is growing, others are declining in public perception. The results provide an interesting insight into the dynamic relationship between members of the royal family and the population.
