Tyrolean Unterland: 1.6 million euros for young workers!
A new funding program of a total of 1.6 million euros aims to improve the professional participation of young people in the Tyrolean lowlands. Of these, 960,000 euros come from the state of Tyrol, the rest comes from grants from the European Social Fund, as orf tirol . The program, which is decided on Tuesday during the state government meeting, is part of the 2030 labor market strategy and is intended to help young people who are in the phase of "non-activity"-that is, "neets", which means "Not in Education, Employment or Training". The focus is on the districts of Schwaz, Kufstein and Kitzbühel.
The promotion call will be started from April 1st, with the term until September 2027. The aim is to support at least 40 participants who receive training with a daily structure in low -threshold unrestricted workshops. According to the responsible regional councilor Astrid Mair (ÖVP), the program offers “young people disadvantaged on the labor market the opportunity to learn basic skills and start their way into professional life.”
challenges on the job market
Despite a record of almost 354,000 employees, which is equivalent to full employment, the SPÖ warns of the almost 11,000 unemployed in Tyrol. SPÖ working market spokesman Philip Wohlgemuth emphasizes that every unemployed and every unemployed are one too much and that more perspectives have to be created to support these people. Criticism also comes from the planned cuts in the Tyrolean AMS budget of 7.3 million euros, which could endanger many initiatives for agencies, which he calls "unacceptable", as SPÖ Tirol Landtag reported.
Wohlgemuth demands that investments in the labor market and coherent initiatives are more important than ever. He emphasizes that every euro that flows into this area is sensibly invested in order not only to promote economically but also humanly sustainable solutions. Digitization and flexible working time models could also be crucial to improve the framework conditions for employees in Tyrol, especially for women who are often unintentionally working in part -time work. Sonja Föger-Kalchschmied from the SPÖ emphasizes the need to restore the trust of the young generation in prosperity through work, also in view of the increasing housing costs. A tirol -wide living requirement study should give clues here.
