Chancellor Olaf Scholz remains true to his stylistic line and appears in the podcast “And what are you doing at the weekend?” (Episode 180) in a jeans version - jogging pants are taboo for him. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, whom he sees as the right partner for him, and they enjoy TV talk shows together.

Olaf Scholz, who was born in Osnabrück in 1958 and grew up in Hamburg, had numerous political positions before becoming chancellor, including the post of First Mayor of Hamburg, Federal Minister of Labor and Finance and Vice Chancellor. He has been at the head of the federal government since 2021.

Personal insights and preferences

About his sleeping habits, the Chancellor revealed that he can sleep in until shortly before 8 a.m. on Saturdays without having to use the snooze button and has no difficulty falling asleep. He also loves cooking: his recipe for Königsberger meatballs is well known. In politics, Scholz avoids political talk shows, which he perceives as productions, and instead prefers reading biographies - especially about Jürgen Habermas - and watching plays.

Sport is also part of his lifestyle. He jogs and rows regularly and has set up a WaterRower in his chancellor's apartment. At home he usually goes barefoot and doesn't wear slippers.

In the near future, Olaf Scholz will be a guest on the talk show “3nach9” on March 8, 2024 Gala reported. This special episode is an anniversary edition and will be broadcast at 10 p.m. on NDR, Radio-Bremen- Fernsehen and hr- Fernsehen.
