Melanie Reidinger: With Friesians on stage at the German horse show!
In the picturesque Unterrohrbach region, Korneuburg district, the talented show rider Melanie Reidinger has created an impressive riding facility that has been her home for a total of 25 horses and herself since 2023. Her passion for horses began at the age of three, and today she is not only a full-time show rider, but also an aspiring dressage trainer and judge. In the 20 x 60 meter riding arena, Reidinger trains daily with her two Friesians, Moritz and Chipsy, for spectacular performances at the international show “Cavalluna”, which emerged from the earlier “Apassionata”. According to noe.ORF.at, it is particularly important to her that her horses enjoy working, which is why she limits training times to around forty minutes per day.
The appearances on “Cavalluna” are anything but ordinary for Reidinger. Almost every weekend she travels to a different European city and is particularly looking forward to her upcoming performance in front of her home audience in Vienna. “This is something very special,” she emphasizes. But the challenge becomes greater in the second half of the year, because for the first time the horses are transported by plane to a secret, legally unnamed destination in a warm country. “We don't know yet how they will react, but I will be with them during the flight,” she explains.
Horse dreams and magical moments
The show journey of Melanie Reidinger and her team is full of unforgettable moments. For years she has been bringing the magic of the horse world to the stage with her Friesians Heinrijk and Chipsy, and her experiences on the 2018/2019 Apassionata tour and the “Cavalluna Park” summer and winter shows are a central part of her life. The elegance and power of their animals fascinate both children and adults. “It is a privilege to be able to do what you love professionally,” confirms Reidinger, showing her tireless commitment to horses and the art of riding, which she lives with her heart and soul.
