Pulheim, Deutschland - The 1st FC Köln and the municipality of Pulheim mourn Dr. Bernhard Worms, who died on December 21 at the age of 94. Worms, a native of Stommelner and honorary citizen of his hometown, was not only a passionate supporter of the football club, but also an outstanding local politician and state secretary in the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. dr. Worms had a close connection to his wife Hildegard for over 60 years, with whom he leaves three children and five grandchildren. From 1991 to 1997 he was Vice President of 1st FC Cologne and during this time he decisively shaped the association structure. Mayor Frank Keppeler recognizes Worms as a "bridge builder", who always acted empathetically and with Rhenish humor, which helped him, also mastered difficult social challenges. He is called the initiator of important projects in Pulheim as the “founding father” of his city.
