International Advisory Board starts important initiatives for diversity!

Pforzheim, Deutschland - In autumn 2024, the International Advisory Board in Pforzheim was re -elected and recently ceremoniously started work. The committee, chaired by Mayor Peter Boch, consists of 21 knowledgeable members between the ages of 27 and 72, which bring valuable expertise into local political issues by 2029. With representatives from 15 different nations, the advisory board focuses on promoting equal political, cultural and social participation of citizens with a migration background. This was emphasized by the head of the International and Engagement division, Anna-Lena Beilschmidt, who pointed out that the advisory board can make the concerns of the International Community directly heard in the municipal council. Further information can be found on the website of the International Advisory Board: International page of the advisory board.

The importance of international bodies

While the International Advisory Board in Pforzheim has now started work, there are also significant developments in other international organizations. According to Taschenhirn , institutions such as the Council of Europe, the EU Commission and the World Trade Organization are essential for the regulation of global topics. The EU finance ministers, for example, manage the stability pact, which ensures economic stability in the member states, while the European Central Bank monitors monetary policy. These organizations not only coordinate economic matters, but are also directly responsible for the creation of a legal framework that should strengthen international law and human rights.

The connection between local engagement in Pforzheim and the large international organizations shows how important it is to involve voices from different cultures and backgrounds in order to create an inclusive and fair political landscape. In view of the global challenges of our time, the work of such advisory boards, as well as those of the established international bodies, is becoming increasingly relevant.
