HSV relies on interim coach Polzin: trust until the winter break!
The Hamburger SV has opted for a temporary coaching solution and relies on interim coach Merlin Polzin until the winter break of the 2nd Bundesliga. This decision was announced by sports director Stefan Kuntz at a press conference before the upcoming home game against Darmstadt 98. Polzin, who took over the scepter after Steffen Baumgart's leave of absence and won his first game with a convincing 3-1 win against Karlsruhe, should now recommend himself in the remaining three games until the winter break, as laola1.at reported.
KUNTZ was optimistic about Polzin: "He doesn't have to worry about the weekend's result. In view of the work and the reactions from the team that we have been able to determine in the past few days, he gets it full of conviction." Nevertheless, he emphasized that one could continue to deal with other potential trainers. Names such as Bruno Labbadia, Raphael Wicky, Henrik Rydström and Jocelyn Gourvennec are possible as possible successors, although there are currently no binding commitments, as Kuntz also clarified.
whereabouts and team dynamics
The decision to continue to leave Polzzin as a chief coach regardless of the outcome of the next games was deliberately made to set a sign of trust. "This decision is made out of conviction," continued Kuntz. In the meantime, the coaching team around Polzin shows great willingness to work and gets additional drive from the club's trust. The anticipation for the upcoming tasks is noticeable. However, according to Kuntz, there will be no training camp in the sun because you plan to stay at home and to organize test games against regional opponents such as VfB Lübeck, such as hlsports.de reports.
