Honorable award: Steyr-Land honors committed seniors!

In the heart of Upper Austria, numerous personalities were recently honored for their extraordinary voluntary commitment. Proud decorations from the Upper Austrian Senior Citizens' Association were presented in a festive ceremony in the Steyr-Land and Ried districts. Over 76,000 members benefit from the selfless services provided annually with 2.8 million hours of voluntary work throughout Upper Austria. These dedicated people contribute significantly to the community and receive highly valued awards for their contributions. How meinkreis.at reports, three outstanding officials who work tirelessly for society were honored in the Steyr-Land district.

Volunteer heroes

Among those honored is Johann Fuchs from Andrichsfurt, who was awarded the Federal Gold Medal of Honor. In addition to him, Maria Hauer from Ort and Maria Detzlhofer from Reichersberg received the Golden Sports Award. Further honors were awarded to Edeltraud Aspöck and Maria Scherzer, who were both honored with the Silver Sports Medal tips.at reports. These recognitions are a sign of appreciation for the time and effort that volunteers invest in supporting older generations.

In his speech, state chairman Josef Pühringer emphasized the need for volunteer work: "Without the many volunteers, our community would be all the poorer. They are the backbone of our organization and the engine that keeps the social offerings running."
