Criticism of the MZG Gänserndorf: City takes responsibility for health turns

In Gänserndorf, the Medical Center (MZG) stands for far -reaching changes that have been prepared for one and a half years. Mayor René Lobner (ÖVP) has declared that the municipality was willing to take on more responsibility. The reason for this: the inadequate medical care and the need to optimize the services of the MZG. "This is not satisfactory for us either," says Lobner, who clearly appeals to the challenges in view of a massive lack of doctors. The focus is on the development to a primary care center, as can be seen from a new expert paper, which suggests a closure of three hospitals in the Weinviertel and sees the MZG in this new function, reports meinzirk.at.

criticism of the existing system

The restructuring not only affect approval. Lobner and SPÖ member of the state parliament René Zonschits have given both vehemently concerns. Zonschits criticizes that despite a promised pediatrician pool, no doctors have been available in the MZG since January 2023. He questions that a renaming to a primary care facility can solve the existing problems. "The MZG should have lived as it was intended, with basic care around the clock," complains Zonschits and thus brings the dilemma to the point.

The planned project to create a primary care center raises questions, especially with regard to the current dissatisfaction. The exact implementation must now be determined by experts and politics. Able to quickly improve medical hardship, both Lobner and Zonschits are challenged to develop clear measures. Responsibility for improving the situation in the MZG remains an urgent topic that requires an early solution, as already illustrates the reporting from noe.at.
