The best slaps 2025: Test winner & insider tips in comparison!

München, Deutschland - On May 15, 2025, the ÖAMTC and ADAC presented the test results of eight slaps that are operated without an electric motor. The test criteria included driving behavior, handling, safety, durability and pollutants. All models tested were free of harmful substances, but some have one or the other weakness.

Four models gained the grade "good" among the bicycles tested, while three models with "satisfactory" and one with "enough" sections. Particularly noteworthy is the model Brompton G Line , which shone as a test winner with an overall grade of 2.3. It offers excellent driving behavior and high stability on different substrates, but is available without a lighting system and side stands and costs just under 3,000 euros.

Especially the Hightide No. 03 proves to be an inexpensive and versatile alternative, while the Vello Rocky Titan ended due to a frame break in the long -term test with an overall grade of 4.5. Such a deficiency results not least from durability problems.

In the brake tests, several models showed, in particular the Decathlon fold 500 and tern deficits, especially under wet conditions. It is also interesting that the tests with subjects showed that the test winner is not necessarily the best choice for every purpose.

The handling of the slaps turned out to be user-friendly, and folding and slaps are simply carried out in local public transport due to their design. However, the regional transport conditions vary significantly, which is why the ADAC demands uniform and transparent regulations.
