Government program ensures vertebrae: positive and criticism at the same time!
The new government program is discussed controversially because both critical and praise voices are loud. As the Krone reports, organizations complain that wealthy citizens are not sufficiently asked to pay and the measures for climate protection are inadequate. FPÖ boss Herbert Kickl expressed that it could not even be a real government program, since the coalition was not yet fully established. In a first reaction, the environmental protection organization Global 2000 also rated the government program as mixed. The planned climate protection law and the commitment to climate neutrality are highlighted by 2040, but the strong focus on expensive road construction projects is criticized as outdated thinking. "Here we need a federal government that takes courageous steps in climate and environmental protection," said Johannes Wahlmüller from Global 2000, as the OTS In addition, an immediate ban on the stressful PFAS pesticides is required and a clear implementation of measures to combat pollutants in drinking water.
Mixed reactions and demands

At the same time, the planned expansion of banking taxes is evaluated positively, but this cannot be a replacement for more progressive corporate taxation. In addition, there are contradictions in the new government program between the aim of promoting renewable energies and the avoidable adherence to outdated basic projects in the traffic sector, which could lead to a further increase in pressure to environmental protection.
