Parakanu talent days: New opportunities for young athletes in the Schierstein port!
The Schiersteiner harbor experienced a refreshing climax on the last weekend in September when the Parakanu Talent Day took place. In bright sunshine, numerous participants gathered who were able to look forward to an exciting experience in disability sports. The day was opened by Kirsten Louis, a speaker of the Parakanus, and André Brendel, the head coach of the Parakanu national team, who gave the present exciting insight into the world of Parakanus.needless to Say, the event aims to address people who already have experience in disabled sports as well as those who may be dealing with these activities for the first time. "The goal of the talent days is, as the name suggests, to find talent for our sport. We are looking for both people who are already on the road in disabled people, as well as people who are more unknown to Parakanu. And sometimes there is simply a big portion of trying out something new," said project manager Kirsten Louis.
support and team spirit
The commitment of the Schierstein Water Sports Association was an essential factor for the success of this event. Many members of the association were actively involved in accompanying the first paddle tests of the participants. There was even a short shower between the activities, but it could not cloud the good mood. "We are very pleased that many curious people have found their way to us and have put themselves on board," said Louis.
Thank you very much Stefan Asmuss, the club's inclusion officer, and the DLRG Wiesbaden-Schierstein, which ensured the necessary security. "This day would not have been possible without the support of the association," emphasized Louis, who was drawn to a positive conclusion.
Interested parties in Parakanu have the opportunity to contact Kirsten Louis directly to get more information. The passion for sport and the opportunity to enter new territory is moving more and more people into the water, which is not only an inspiring experience for the club, but also for the participants.
