Israel brings back corpses of two dead hostages from Gaza in military action

In a military operation, the Israeli forces (IDF) and the domestic secret service Shin Bet have recovered the corpses of two deceased hostages from southern Gaza Strip on Wednesday evening.

Details on the identity of the hostages

Yair Yaakov, who was killed on October 7, 2023 during the terrorist attack triggered by militant members of the Islamic Jihad, is one of the identified. The 59-year-old was killed in the Kibbutz Nir OZ and his body was brought to Gaza. His partner, Meirav valley, and two of his children were hosted, but were able to be released in an earlier agreement.

According to the IDF and Shin Bet, the body of another hostage was also recovered, but the name of which has not yet been published at the request of the family.
