Worpswede is becoming safer: four new speed measurement boards are planned!

The Worpswede municipal council has decided to purchase four speed measurement boards in order to increase traffic safety in the village. These boards are to be set up at the four entrances from Worpswede: on Osterweder Straße (L 153), Hörberg (K 10), Bremer Landstraße (L 153) and Osterholzer Straße (K 11).

The district has already agreed to set up the tables on K 10 and K 11. For the locations on the L 153, however, a usage contract with the Lower Saxony State Authority for Road Construction and Transport (NLSTBV) must still be concluded. The municipal administration caught up with three offers from the companies Data Collect, Elancity and Wavetec.

selection and costs of the tables

The Wavetec offer was selected due to the convincing costs, handling and optical representation. The total costs for the speed measurement boards amount to 7413 euros, with the district subsidizing 50 percent of the costs. The exact time of the installation and commissioning of the plates is still unknown.

In addition, the advantages of digital speed ads were informed, such as those can be found at Viatraffic. The digital speed ads offer precise speed measurements, quick and easy assembly and a speed limit function. They also support traffic safety by reducing the speed in urban areas and thus reducing the risk of accidents.

The use of freshly developed technologies ensures improved visibility and weather resistance of the speed measuring devices. This is particularly important to increase the safety of all road users, especially near schools, daycare centers and other heavily frequented areas.

For more information on the speed ads and your advantages, you can see the pages of Weser Kurier and Viatraffic Visit.
