Knight games at Sommeregg Castle: A month full of medieval action!

Burg Sommeregg, Oberkärnten, Österreich - The Sommeregg Castle in Upper Carinthia became the scene of a spectacular medieval festival in August 2025. The traditional knight games, which are organized by the Riegler family, the owners of the castle, will take place here from August 1st to 24th. Visitors can look forward to an exciting knight tournament, as well as a lively medieval market. Various exhibitors, including clothesmakers, potter and knife grind, present themselves here who bring the art of craftsmanship to life.

The festival also offers numerous opportunities for visitors to actively participate in the action or simply to watch the artists' performances. A highlight is the torture museum in the castle, which exhibits historical exhibits and gives an insight into life in the Middle Ages. The audience is spoiled with a princely knightly plate that perfectly combines the taste and atmosphere of the festival.
