An exciting event is imminent: On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, 60 delegates of the youth parliament and 235 children of the children's parliament meet in the Vienna City Hall to actively participate in the design of the new child and youth strategy for the years 2025-2030. Vice mayor Christoph Return will accompany the opening in the ballroom, while the young participants will discuss their concerns from 5 to 20 years and demand political statements. The elaborated strategy is based on the knowledge from the “Werkstadt Junges Vienna”, the largest project for the participation of children and adolescents in city history, in which over 22,500 children brought in their ideas and suggestions. Mayor Michael Ludwig emphasizes the importance of the inclusion of young citizens in political decision -making processes so that their voice and wishes are taken into account.
