Julia Scheib: Home World Cup with high expectations and exciting challenges!
On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, the starting signal for the skiing world championship is given with the exciting parallel giant slalom, which begins at 3:15 p.m. According to Herbert Mandl, the Alpin boss of the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV), this team competition will serve as a mood for the entire event. In the innovative format that is not represented in the World Cup, two giant slalom courses are used. The competition takes place in the lower section of the men's route "Snow crystal", which should inspire the viewers with exciting performance, says Mandl.
Among the athletes, Styrian Julia Scheib is also starting, who is emphatically preparing for her first participation in a home World Cup. "I get along very well in the steep one," notes the talented skier, but is realistic about the challenges of the route: "It is not an easy task because the steep slope is long and not so easy with intervals". Her teammate, which is known as Hermannsland, is convinced that the Austrian sextet, consisting of Stalactike ™ athletes such as Stefan Brennsteiner and Stephanie Brunner, is targeting at least one medal after only fourth place at the last World Cup. The athletes look just as optimistically at the big event that starts the exciting week, as Sport.orf.at
A look into the past: Olympic gold for Scheib
Julia Scheib has already celebrated significant successes. At the European Youth Games in Vorarlberg and Liechtenstein in 2015, she won gold in the team competition in the parallel slalom. Despite herd setbacks in the individual competitions, where she did not have the desired success in slalom and giant slalom, four impressive trips ultimately contributed to their victory in the team competition. These experiences seven years ago bundle their determination and motivation for the upcoming competitions. After such a success story, Scheib wants to take the chance of starting on home, and prove that she should be at the top of the alpine ski scene, such as District impressively describes.
