Jazzy Christmas sounds in Mußbach: Festival concert of the big band enthusiastic!

On December 26, 2024, the Christmas concert of the New Brass Bigband took place in the Protestant Johanneskirche in Mußbach. The event attracted numerous visitors and offered a varied program with traditional and modern Christmas carols in a jazzy style.

The concert was opened with the choral "It has arisen a rose", followed by a greeting by Pastor Thomas Klein of the Protestant parish of Gimmeldingen-Königsbach-Mußbach. Pastor Klein presented various texts during the concert.

Ralph "Mosch" Himmler took over the management of the orchestra. Participants were various combo and ensemble groups, including a tubatrio, a trumpet quartet and a saxophone quartet. The repertoire included well -known pieces such as "In Dulci Jubilo", "What Child" and "God Rest You Merry Gentlemen", as well as "O Tannenbaum", "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and "Feliz Navidad". The music presented a successful mix of classic sacred music and the characteristic sound of a big band.

The New Brass Bigband, which is considered the first church big band in Germany, usually presents its concerts on church days, services and similar occasions. For interested parties who want to experience the musical connection between classical music and big band sound, further concerts will be offered in the future. Another Christmas concert will take place on December 22, 2024 in the Unterkirche of the Protestant Johanniskirche Maikammer.
