China's aviation power: billion dollar deals and new fighter jets in Zhuhai!
The China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai attracts 600,000 visitors and billions of sales.
A spectacle of the air! Six Chinese Chengdu J-10 Jets lift in a breathtaking maneuver over the sky of Zhuhai and attract the eyes of thousands. The pilots show their skills with an impressive V-formation flight and a spectacular play of colors made of red, blue, yellow and white smoke, which spectators puts in ecstasy. But that is only the beginning of the exciting event at the Biennal Airshow China, which took place from November 12th to 17th.
technological masterpieces unveiled
The event was not only a festival of aerial acrobatics, but also a platform for the presentation of the latest military technologies. The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) presented a large number of new aircraft, including the updated Harbin Z-20 helicopter and the long-awaited J-35a stealth fight jet. The latest Russian stealth fight jet, the SU-57, also celebrated its premiere outside of Russia. According to the Chinese state media, the fair attracted almost 600,000 visitors and generated orders worth $ 38.7 billion.
Peter Layton, an expert in defense and aviation, emphasizes the importance of this fair: "It is about demonstrating the sophistication and the extent of the Air Force of the PLA." But the real progress not only lies in the impressive flight maneuvers, but also in the development of aviation software and drone technology that will shape the future of air warfare.
drones and AI: The future of air warfare
Die nächste Generation von Kampfflugzeugen wird durch künstliche Intelligenz (KI) und maschinelles Lernen revolutioniert. Experts predict that AI will significantly improve data processing in combat aircraft, which gives the pilot a better overview of the battlefield. The Integration of AI and pilot skills will be crucial to gain air sovereignty. An example of this development is the J-20S, a two-seater fighter jet that was presented as a model at the fair and enables collaboration with drones.
The Chinese military presence and the technological advances presented at the air show are not only impressive, but also alarming for neighboring countries like Taiwan. Developments in aviation technology, especially in relation to drones and unmanned systems, are a serious challenge for the air defense of Taiwan. Experts warn that Taiwan urgently has to replace his outdated aircraft and modernize its military skills to keep progress with China.
