Donauinselfest 2025: A festival for democracy and diversity in Vienna!

The Danube Island Festival 2025, the largest open-air festival in Europe, takes place from June 20 to 22, 2025 and at the same time celebrates several significant anniversaries: 80 years of the Republic of Austria, 70 years of state contract and 30 years of EU membership. Under the new motto "Your island. Real moments", over 600 hours of program are offered, which not only includes music and entertainment, but also places a clear focus on democracy topics. New program and inclusion offers

To strengthen inclusion, the festival will be expanded to include additional offers this year. Barbara Novak, the SPÖ state party secretary, emphasized the importance of social cohesion and the participation of all citizens. In addition to a pre-opening with the Vienna Volksoper on Thursday evening, numerous events for seniors are being planned. A buddy system will help older people to take part in the celebrations. The festival will also come up with a total of 16 stages, including a podcast stage that is dedicated to democracy, as well as a karaoke stage on which everyone can show their talent. A special Highlight will be an inclusion concert that is intended to further promote the inclusion lived.
