Wobbe: Starnberg's tireless sports hero receives an honorary award 2024!

Starnberg, Deutschland - Winfried Wobbe, who is known for sport and volunteering due to his tireless passion, received the "committed 2024" award of the Bavarian State Sports Association (BLSV) in a spectacular award. The 77-year-old, whose commitment has been tireless in Starnberg for over 50 years, was recognized during a lavish volunteer gala in Glentleiten for his numerous services in sports and local politics. Walter Moser, head of the BLSV sports group Starnberg, explained that the clubs Wobbe owed a lot and the award was long overdue.

The versatile wobbe, born in 1947 in Fulda in Hesse, moved to Lake Starnberg in 1959, where his passion for the sports world was sparked. From TSV 1880 to SV Wangen, Wobbe founded a volleyball department that rose to the third highest league under his direction. In his function as a trainer and club manager, he decisively shaped the sporting life of the region.

a life for sport and politics

Wobble's commitment is not just limited to sport. He has also been active in local politics since 1986 and has held several important offices, including youth officers and sports officers. In his political activity, which will soon come to an end, he campaigns for harmonious solutions and the concerns of the citizens, peppered with a touch of humor, as he says: "I am a green one in my heart."

The love of music also accompanies Wobbe - as a member of the former band "Yaks", he still inspires old hits today and goes on tour with his band. Wobbe remains connected to the region as part of events such as “Starnberg moved”. Despite a mixed weather at the last event, he is determined to be there again next year to promote sporting and cultural life in Starnberg.
