Häupl reveals the fight against Parkinson's: I'm still doing very well!

Michael Häupl, the former mayor of Vienna, has made his diagnosis for Parkinson's public. In an interview, the 75-year-old said that he has known about his illness for about nine months, who initially felt noticeable by trembling in his right hand. He then visited a neurologist who brought him the news with a humorous approach: "You have Parkinson's. The two are good: You won't die from the disease and you will not die", as Häupl from the platform kleine newspaper reported.

Although the diagnosis is worrying, Häupl states that he is "very good" and that he does not need any medication for the time being. His therapy plan mainly consists of physical exercise and sport. He practices a special trembling ball three times a day and attaches great importance to endurance sports by training at the ergometer one hour three times a week. He emphasizes these measures as a decisive part of his everyday life in order to actively manage the disease. In another interview with the press stated that the often suspected connection between tremors and alcohol abuse was: " He, because he has drunk too much.
