Darts scandal: Bennett and Warriner punished for years of manipulation!
In a dramatic turning point in darts, the young darts star Leighton Bennett, known for his impressive victory over the legend Phil Taylor, was occupied with an eight-year lock. Together with his colleague Billy Warriner, he was guilty on November 18 by the Darts Regulation Authority (DRA) for serious violations, including play manipulation. Both players faced high fines of 8,100 British pounds each, such as Laola1 reported.
The DRA identified four games that were manipulated by Bennett, as well as inadmissible activities such as the transfer of insider information and non -support for ongoing investigations. The 18-year-old Bennett, who was temporarily suspended because of these allegations, will no longer be able to take part in official competitions from August 11, 2032. Warriner, who received an even harsh punishment of ten years, admitted most of his charges and was also guilty of further serious violations. In addition to the offenses mentioned above, he will be punished for insulting an official and the threat of an opponent during another tournament, such as FOCUS reported.
serious decisions
Both players have time until December 14, 2024 to appeal against the drastic decisions of the disciplinary committee. The DRA also made it clear that no other darts players are involved in this manipulation affair. These incidents throw a shadow on sport and show how important integrity in competition is to protect the credibility of darts.
