Signature campaign in Seehausen: Save the school from the end!
Seehausen, Deutschland - In Seehausen it is bubbling! The community school "Johann Joachim Winckelmann" fights against alarming teaching failures, which are caused by a blatant lack of personnel. A committed initiative, led by Bernd Kloss from Wanzer, has now teamed up in order to draw attention to the predicament with a collection of signatures. The population is called to gather on the Postplatz in Seehausen on November 12 and 19 from 10 a.m. and to raise their voice for the popular initiative "The school must stay in the village"!
The situation is dramatic: missing teachers and constant loss of teaching have been a painful topic for years. Kloss and his colleagues are calling for an improvement in school education and a reliable supply of teaching positions. "I am here for my grandson," said a concerned participant who remembered the protests in October 2022 in Osterburg, as a student and parents for the loss of teaching. The former parent spokesman for the community school, Kurt Wohlfahrt, played a central role in the organization of these protests, but now his son has left school and welfare itself has given up its function.
a call to support
The initiative "The school must stay in the village" aims to anchor regulations in the country's school law that prevent arbitrary interventions in the school structure. Kloss criticizes that the Ministry of Education in Magdeburg is unable to offer schools a reliable perspective. Instead, plans would be forged to close schools. While nationwide protests have spared small primary schools in rural areas for the time being, schools in independent cities are now on the shooting list. The initiative also demands that the often endangered school social work will be secured by a legal regulation. To achieve these goals, the support of the population is essential!
