Bohlenweg across the Elbe: Cycle path remains closed due to defects!
Wittenberge. The construction work on the Bohlenweg, which crosses the Elbe between Wittenberge and the Losenrade district in Saxony-Anhalt, are unexpected Challenges! The delays are due to problems with the new material. During an inspection, it was found that the condition of the crossing is dilapidated, which makes a temporary opening of the cycle path impossible. Antje Spillner from the building regulations area in Wittenberge confirms that the Bohlenweg remains closed until the work is completed - for security reasons!
The problems are serious: metal grille rust that is intended for the renovation are not yet released. "The structural engineers have to calculate again," explains Spillner and thus leaves the original plans to open the bike path by the end of the year. A new opening date has not yet been determined, which urges the anticipation of cyclists into the background.
Cycle Path construction site: That is why it takes longer
The renovation of the cycle path is supported by funding from the Radnetz program Germany. While the Deutsche Bahn is owner of the bridge, the city of Wittenberge and the municipality of Seehausen have a usage permit for the Bohlenweg. The entire path of about one kilometer is equipped with long -lasting metal safety rusts to ensure the safety of cyclists.
Construction site: This is how it is redirected
During the closure, cyclists have to switch to the B189 Elbe Bridge. Users of the detour from Seehausen are already calling for additional security measures such as signs with "Attention Cyclists" and a temporary speed limit to increase safety on the detour route. The situation remains tense while the construction work continues to be waiting!
