Young talents in the spotlight: HAK students shine at the speech competition!
Waidhofen an der Thaya, Österreich - The Federal Trade Academy Waidhofen/Thaya recently took part in an important commemoration for the international day of commemoration to the victims of the Holocaust. At the invitation of the parliamentary directorate, the students experienced an informative event in which contemporary witness Erika Freeman reported on its moving history. As a twelve -year -old, she fled from Vienna alone due to political conditions and built up a new life in America. In addition to the emotional experiences in Vienna, the school also impressed in the field of rhetoric. The student Jasmin Reegen of the 1st year successfully took part in the Lower Austrian State Speech Competition. First, she prevailed in the school -internal advance agencies with her topic "I volunteer" and qualified for regional excretion in Zwettl. There she also showed her talent and gained the opportunity to take part in the state finals in St. Pölten. There the young people from Lower Austria presented their speeches, while the MPs watched in the meeting room of the state parliament. Jasmin ended the competition with an excellent 6th place in the category of classic speech, an impressive success, such as Hak Waidhofen/Thaya reported. The entire vintage had traveled to support and thus showed a strong sense of community.
