Lustenau, Österreich - In the Vorarlberg catering sector, Marcel Lerch causes a sensation! With his new "Rio" restaurant in Dornbirn, which opens on time for Christmas Eve, the experienced restaurateur is facing a strong sign against the displacement of life from the city centers. But that's not his only project: the 50-year-old even invested 1.5 million euros in his “Taco Taco-Food & Drinks” restaurant during the pandemic, which opened his doors at the end of December. This sum is the highest that Lerch has invested so far, and he rely on a former petrol station building in Lustenau. "The ventilation alone cost me 120,000 euros," said Lerch, who spoils his guests with a mixture of Mexican specialties and steaks. The extraordinary location on the heavily frequented Reichsstrasse, just a stone's throw away from the border to Switzerland, was crucial for Lerch. "This location was decisive for me," he adds, speaks of the possibilities that the region now offers for gourmets. The restaurateur is optimistic, despite the challenges of recent years, and emphasizes: "Do it with the whole heart or let it stay." The initial interest of the guests speaks volumes: Burritos, Tacos and Quesadillas are currently the racers and promise a promising future for its new restaurants.
