Eifelerin Ela Eiden: on literary and historical trips!

Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm, Deutschland - Ela Eiden, a passionate bibliophile and history enthusiast from the Eifel, discovered the world of books at a young age. At the age of six she began reading Cervantes' masterpiece "Don Quijote" and quickly grew into the fascinating adventures of literature and history. These literary trips led them to important places and experiences that are still reflected in their travels. After a short "detour" into a monastery, where life was shaped by strict rules, she broke open to explore the world and its history. Today she travels with her VW "Bully" and combines two of her great passions in this way: reading and storytelling.

Ela has visited an impressive list of historical sites, including old bunkers and trenches around Normandy. Her personal interest in German history leads you to search in archives for documents from her late uncle, a former naval member. Here she explains: "History is fascinating and impressive, in a negative as in a positive sense."

a passionate globetroter

Your thirst for knowledge even brings Ela to Egypt, where she contacted American Egyptologist Kent Week. Ela is always to expand her knowledge and to bring what you have learned to life. On her travels, she documents her experiences and knowledge under the pseudonym @eifeltrolltour on the Findpenguins platform. It is an exciting way to share the adventure with others and tell your own unique story.

For the reading friends there is now another way to follow Ela: In the "Ela reads" section, she will write regular book reviews of regional authors for the weekly mirror. The start of this series is the discussion of Claude Dominicy's crime novel "The Knuedler conspiracy". There she takes the readers on an exciting journey through the pages of the book.

A look at the "Knuedler conspiracy"

The novel that plays in the Luxembourg area captivates the readers from the start. Although the tension sheet is temporarily flattening in the course of history, there is a certain charm, especially due to the emotional tornness of the protagonist, criminal commissioner Dany Kerner, in her private life. Ela emphasizes that despite the long passages in the plot, the linking of relationships remains convincing.

this literary excursion is rounded off by a competition in which the readers have the opportunity to win one of five copies of the novel. The conditions of participation are easy to understand and offer a wonderful way to get to know the exciting world of crime novels. Interested parties can send their announcements by e-mail to profit@tw-verlag.de.

Reporting on Ela Eiden is not only a look at an emerging book reviewer, but also shows how deeply the passion for history and literature is rooted in her life. This is also underpinned by their extensive travel experience, which you will lead to many historical places where stories are alive.
