Hostus and ceasefire: Israel and Hamas stand before crucial days!
The situation in the Gaza Strip remains tense, while negotiations on the release of hostages and an armistice between Israel and Hamas continue. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office has confirmed that he will remain informed about developments during his current trip to the United States. Hamas accuses Israel of delaying agreed relief supplies such as tents and fuel, which is rejected by Israel. These tensions could endanger the fragile agreement on the release of hostages, such as Kleine Zeitung reported.
Currently there are still 79 hostages in the violence of Hamas, some of which are probably dead. In accordance with the ceasefire agreement, the names of the freely hostage hostages must be communicated 24 hours in advance. In return, dozens of Palestinian prisoners are to be released from Israeli prisons. So far, 13 hostages have been released as part of the agreement, while Israel released 583 Palestinians. Tagesschau reports that the first phase of the agreement, which should last six weeks, has already revealed a few details.
Details about ceasefire and freedom of hostage
The agreement stipulates that hosts are released in the first phase, mainly women and minors. For every civilian hostage, Israel is said to release 30 Palestinian prisoners; In the case of a soldier, there are even 50. Around 600 trucks with relief goods are to be delivered to the Gaza Strip every day to improve the humanitarian situation. The first deliveries should include fuel and other urgently needed materials. Negotiations on a possible second phase begin after 16 days of the first phase, with the aim of leaving all remaining hostages and possibly achieving a permanent ceasefire.
