Frankfurt student on hobbit hike: 2700 kilometers to the adventure!
A Frankfurt Scandinavi student, Bennett Brück, embarked on a very special trip: in Hobbit clothing, he hikes 2700 kilometers from Wiesbaden to Morocco. The journey that leads him through seven countries was from the story "The Lord of the Rings" by J.R.R. Tolkien inspired. Brück started his journey in the summer of 2024 together with his friend Leo K., after a dark time during the Corona pandemic.
The route started on the Rhine in Wiesbaden and ended in Morocco. The two hikers covered between 15 and 20 kilometers every day. After three weeks they reached Paris. At this point, Leo had to cancel the journey due to personal circumstances, which is why Brück continued the rest of the part alone. During his adventure, Brück got into a dangerous situation in Spain when he was in Valencia and Malaga during the century flood.

arrived in Morocco, Brück took a symbolic act: he threw a true to the original, which he had carried throughout the entire trip, into the sea to free himself from negative thoughts. After a total of four months of hike, he returned from Morocco to Frankfurt by direct flight.
J.R.R. Tolkien has strongly shaped modern fantasy culture with his works, especially "the hobbit". An extensive encyclopedia about hobbits, published in the Magic spring Verlag, became 2013 and contains a lot of information about Tolkien's life and its literary beginnings. With almost 300 pages and seven chapters that deal with various aspects of Tolkien Universum, the encyclopedia is mainly aimed at fans of his stories, such as reported.
The encyclopedia contains an introduction, a chronology and a list of abbreviations. It offers information about characters, peoples, languages, objects, places, important events and Tolkien's sources of inspiration. The chapters are sorted alphabetically and illustrated with portraits and quotations from his works, which makes them a valuable reference work for all Tolkien fans.
