Choral singing in Remscheid: Herbert Wolf-Eichbaum celebrates his comeback!

In an impressive choir combo, the audience will look forward to a musical performance that has a good time in the Evangelical City Church in Solingen and on Wednesday, December 11th, in the Lutherkirche Remscheid. The 67-year-old Herbert Wolf-Eichbaum, who has already spent his whole life in the Lutherkirche, will sing as a bass in the renowned choir of the Bergische Symphoniker. These performances are special because they promise a unique sound experience in which the voices and instruments act symbiotically. The tickets are available for 18 euros at theater-solingen.de or Theaterticket.remscheid.de and can be acquired by all music lovers.

The choir, dressed in stylish black with red accents, will interpret works by John Rutter and Ola Gjeilo, with Rutter’s "Magnificat" and the "Sunrise Mass" being on the program. Wolf-Eichbaum describes the anticipation of this musical challenge as something very special. "It is a kind of psychotherapy," he says, while talking about how singing gave him a new part of life after the Corona break: "Even if you don't feel like it, you are solved like that". The choir comprises about 70 singers who provide strong harmony.

Choir youth encounter in Latvia 2025

Another highlight in choral music is also imminent: The choir youth in the Swabian choir association organizes a trip to Riga, Latvia, in 2025, which is aimed at young singers between the ages of 14 and 26. Participants can take part in workshops and performances with choir experience. As in the article of the Schwäbische Chorverband , the trip begins with two rehearsal days in Frankfurt before going to Riga, where an intensive program is waiting for the participants. Registration is possible by the end of February, whereby the number of participants is limited. Early bookers benefit from a special price, which creates a positive dynamic for young people who want to devote themselves to choral music.
