Judgment against Facebook: Algorithm increased gender stereotype!

In a pioneering judgment in the Netherlands, it was found that Facebook's algorithm reinforces gender -specific prejudices for job placement. According to reports from CNN, the algorithm of female users mainly shows job offers that are classified as "typical female", such as educators or office workers. The International NGO Global Witness came to the conclusion that this algorithmic approach not only promotes sexual stereotypes in the Netherlands, but also in other countries by mainly offering men professions like mechanics. This judgment of the Dutch Institute for Human Rights could force Meta to revise its algorithm to avoid discrimination, which could lead to possible fines, as on OE24 is reported.
