Vacation for Viennese families: This makes relaxation possible for everyone!

Wien, Österreich - vacation is often an unfulfilled dream for numerous families in Austria. As an analysis by the Johannes Kepler University Linz from the summer of 2024 shows, every sixth Austrian was unable to finance a vacation last year. Fortunately, there is support: The Viennese Yugender Holung (Wijug) association offers financially funded holiday offers for children and families in Vienna. Various holiday offers for Viennese families

There are different types of sponsored holiday offers: family vacations, child vacations and special vacations for foster families. Family vacation is particularly aimed at low -income families with a maximum family income of 1,975 euros net per month. In the summer months, 82 holiday weeks are provided in 19 accommodations, many of them in popular holiday regions such as the Mondsee or in Bad Ischl. The parents pay 16 euros per vacation day, the children do not cost anything, while the residence and catering costs are covered. These attractive offers can be booked from February 10, 2025, with first bookings of families who have never taken part in a vacation, as wien.gv.at

For children from 7 to 14 years, the Wijug offers supervised vacations during the summer vacation, Easter and Christmas holidays. The costs are 33 euros per day and child at full price, but can be reduced to just 26 euros per day with a monthly family income from up to 1,975 euros. Supplementary offers for children with disabilities and the opportunity to bring siblings at reduced prices round off the offer.
