Edu Swarley: The Dachshund rapper who reinvented the hip-hop!
In a world in which rap is often associated with Protz and aggression, Edu Swarley brings a breath of fresh air to the scene! The 31-year-old rapper from Spaichingen, known for his unique style, is not presented with expensive cars, but with a sweeper and his loyal dachshund Kalle. In his new hit "What's going on here?" he takes the rap world humorously on the grain and sets a sign against the monotonous topics of the mainstream rapeseed.
"Nothing aggressive", emphasizes Swarley, "just wink". In his ironic music video, which was shot in parts in Munich and its hometown of Spaichingen, he shows himself as an orange garbage man with superhero cape. For the chorus, he even hired an opera singer who had the lines "Nobody would have ever thought / but he saves rap overnight!" powerful. The video, which was produced by his friend and producer Sep, aka Sebastian Speidel, is a real eye-catcher and brings fresh humor back to the rap scene.
Dachshund Kalle: The True Star
However, the true star of the video is Dachshund Kalle, who with its charm conquers the hearts of the spectators in the storm. Edu Swarley, who found his musical roots in youth when he was inspired by SEP, has made a name for himself since then. Despite the challenges that life in the Swabian province brings, he has fought for a place in the music scene with creativity and humor.
His video is not only fun, but also a statement against superficiality in the music industry. "The social media are both a blessing and a curse," he says. "It is difficult to pick the real jewels out if everyone can post everything." Edu Swarley remains modest and emphasizes that he cannot live from his music alone - his main job remains the filmmaker. But with his unique approach and humor, he could soon conquer the hearts of many rap fans!
