Traunstein celebrates Kultwinter: ice skating, music and culinary highlights!

On Saturday, December 28, 2024, the 2nd Traunsteiner Kultwinter will be officially opened at 11 a.m. The event is made by Mayor Dr. Christian Hümmer and City Marketing Managing Director Hans-Peter Weiß inaugurated, musically framed by the Italian singer Enrico. The main attraction of the cult winter is an ice skating area of 30 x 15 meters, which was set up in the city park between the church of St. Georg and Katharina and Bahnhofstrasse.

The ice skating area has the following opening times: Monday to Friday (including January 1 and 6) from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on New Year's Eve from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entry is free of charge for children up to 5 years, while children and adolescents (6-17 years) have to pay 4 euros and adults 6 euros. Families with children or grandchildren can buy a day ticket for 12 euros. In addition, a skate rental for 6 euros and grinding your own ice skates is available for the same price.

Culinary offers are kept available on eight gastropoles and food trucks, which are open Monday to Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The supporting program includes live music every Thursday and Saturday, as well as a performance by the ice artist Christian Staber on January 4 from 2 p.m. During the cult winter, the Bahnhofsstraße is also blocked and traffic is redirected, whereby a charging zone in front of Bahnhofsstraße 18 is set up.

The cult winter, which is organized by the city of Traunstein and city marketing Traunstein, received the city marketing award of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs in the category "Cities of 20,000 to 50,000 inhabitants".
