"President Trump strives for peace and wants to end the 'endless wars'," says a supporter of Trump. The voters made it clear that they want peace and an end to US financing for the war in Ukraine.

But while the voices become louder after negotiations, Russia shows no signs of willingness to compromise. Putin has drawn up clear conditions for talks: the Ukrainian troops have to withdraw from the occupied areas, and Ukraine has to give up its NATO plans. An impossible deal for Ukraine, which focuses on a "victory plan" that includes additional weapons and immediate NATO membership.

The opinions in Ukraine are split. A survey shows that 64.1 percent of Ukrainians believe that negotiations only make sense if real security guarantees come from the west. The fear that Russia will attack again after a short break is deep!
