In Villingen-Schwenningen, the music academy celebrated the shine of its talented young musicians during a ceremonial award, which was led by the new managing director Matthias Schürmann. He presented flowers and gifts to the award winners of the Black Forest-Baar Culture Prize, Thorben Maier, Simon Eisele and Luis Peixoto, who recently performed outstanding achievements in the “Youth Music” competition. Schürmann emphasized how valuable the diverse training at the academy is, which prepares the talents on their musical path, with the longing for new challenges and a touch of saying in the air, since the graduates are now continuing their musical careers.

The regional competition of "Jugend musiziert" recently demonstrated the outstanding skills of the students in Schramberg. A total of 41 young musicians from the music academy were mentioned, who won 36 first prizes. Of these, eleven students were forwarded directly to the state competition. Gerhard Wolf, the head of the music academy, was full of praise for the impressive achievements, both in the solo and in the ensemble area.
The successes in different categories, including impressive performances by Thorben Maier on the clarinet, which achieved a first prize with 24 points in his age group, and the duo Simon Eisele and Henri Müller, which was awarded a first prize and the forwarding to the state competition, were particularly remarkable. Luis Peixoto also secured a first prize and will continue his musical career at a university from the summer semester.
