Art Museum Ahlen: New courses for creative minds in the heart of the city!

Ahlen, Deutschland - On January 5, 2025, a new course offer was initiated at the art museum in Ahlen. Alois Brinkkötter, who worked as head of the Fritz Winter Comprehensive School in Ahlen for many years, had a good relationship with the national cultural institution. His wife registered him in 2006 as a gift for a sculpture course in the art museum. The course turned out to be successful and led to the establishment of a fixed group with other participants.

Kunstmuseum Ahlen: A place of cultural encounter

The Ahlen Art Museum has existed since October 1993 and was launched by the private initiative of the entrepreneur Theodor F. Leifeld. It is located in a restored, listed villa from the Wilhelminian era, which was built in the style of the Neurenaissance and is located at the former west gate of the city. In 1996 the museum was expanded and today offers an ensemble of three buildings that represent different epochs of architectural history.

The art museum presents five changing exhibitions every year, in which works of classical modern and contemporary art are shown. The aim of the museum is to provide insights into the development of modern art and current art perspectives.

opening times and pricing

The museum is open from Wednesday to Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sundays and public holidays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It remains closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, additional times are possible by appointment. Public tours take place on Sundays at 12 noon, also by appointment.

The admission prices are 7 euros for a day ticket, reduced 5 euros, with a public management plus 3 euros. Admission is free on the first Wednesday of the month. Group tours are available for up to 20 people for 70 euros, after 6 p.m. and at the weekend they cost 80 euros plus a reduced entry of 5 euros per person. For school class tours, the price per person is 3 euros.
